A Steady Desk for a Big Life Decision
Longview was set up to give people in Bangkok a calm, well-resourced place to begin sorting through the practical side of retirement — without pressure or promises.
Back to HomeStarted in Bangkok, Built for Clarity
Longview opened its doors in the Ekkamai neighbourhood of Watthana with one straightforward goal: to make the early stages of retirement planning less confusing for English-speaking residents and expats in Thailand.
The people who come to us are usually at a point where they know they should be thinking about their retirement records, but aren't sure which documents matter, which public systems apply to them, or how to find reliable general information. That uncertainty is what we help to reduce.
We don't provide financial or legal advice. What we do is explain how retirement systems are generally structured, help people set up sensible personal filing habits, and create a community space where questions get answered in plain language.
Information That Belongs to You
We believe that access to clear public information shouldn't require a specialist intermediary. Our role is to point people toward the right resources and give them the organisational tools to act on what they find — at their own pace, on their own terms.
Our values are straightforward: plain language, honest scope, and respect for the fact that retirement is a personal matter. We don't upsell, we don't make promises about outcomes, and we don't ask you to share documents you'd rather keep private.
"The clearer the information, the better the decisions people can make for themselves."
— The Longview founding principle
The Longview Team
A small, focused group with backgrounds in public information work, community facilitation, and document management.
Margaret Whitfield
Helpdesk Lead
Margaret has spent many years working in public information services and has a particular interest in making retirement-related topics approachable for people who are new to the subject.
David Traore
Workshop Facilitator
David runs the group sessions at Longview. His background in community education means sessions stay relaxed and genuinely useful rather than lecture-style.
Siriporn Phanomwan
Document Systems Co-ordinator
Siriporn developed the document organisation toolkit and keeps it updated. She advises on filing structures and helps participants adapt the templates to their own needs.
Our Operational Standards
A set of straightforward practices that guide every session, conversation, and piece of material we produce.
Plain-Language Standard
All materials and spoken sessions are reviewed to remove jargon before delivery. If a term can't be explained in one sentence, we rework it.
No Document Handling Policy
Longview does not request, copy, or store any personal documents from attendees or helpdesk users. Your private records remain yours.
Scope Transparency
We are clear about what falls outside our scope. If a question requires a qualified professional, we say so directly and point toward appropriate public directories.
Data Privacy Practice
Contact details collected via our form are used only to respond to your enquiry. We follow applicable Thai personal data protection principles.
Regular Content Review
Signposting resources and toolkit templates are reviewed periodically to reflect changes in publicly available information and official portal structures.
Accessible Format Commitment
Workshop materials are available in larger print on request. Sessions are held at a ground-floor accessible venue in the Ekkamai area.
Retirement Records & Information Support in Bangkok
Many people who have worked across different countries or who have moved to Thailand later in life find themselves holding a collection of papers, statements, and correspondence that they're not sure how to arrange. Understanding which records correspond to which retirement systems, and how those systems generally interact with each other, can feel overwhelming without a starting point.
Longview's helpdesk is designed as that starting point. We're not a financial service and we're not a legal firm. We're a local information resource — a place to come when you want a calm conversation about what public sources exist, what terms mean, and how to begin getting your personal records into an organised state.
Our community workshops bring together small groups of people in similar situations. Many attendees find that hearing others ask the same questions they've been hesitant to raise is itself a useful step. Sessions are held in English at our Watthana premises and cover the broad shape of how retirement systems are typically organised, with time set aside for open questions.
